Sometimes being a mother and partner takes up the time we would like to spend on ourselves. Currently, I am struggling with that. If you follow my personal blog, The Talbert Zoo, you will know that my family and I will be experiencing some major changes in the near future and it has caused a lot of excitement and tension for me. I have been focused on this and have neglected myself. Usually I opt for a run at least three days a week and do a full body workout with weights once or twice a week. I also take an range of vitamins and supplements every single day. I have a pill box which I fill with two weeks worth of supplements frequently so I don’t forget to take them all. But, these past few weeks have been busy and I am failing to take care of myself. This is humiliating and I know that I ought to not let the tension of life take over. But, alas, it has. I haven’t filled my pill case in over two weeks and my last workout was in May. It is June 5. I should get my butt back in gear. I think we all go through these dry spells when taking care of our health. It is so easy to forget about ourselves when others demand much more of our attention. With summer getaway for my kids in less than a week I am going to try harder to make time for myself. How do you prioritize your “me-time?” how much “me-time” do you set aside each week?
